Man Kicks Girlfriend’s Tot Daughter to Death, Repeatedly Calls Her ‘It’ During Questioning

A Pennsylvania man was arrested on Monday, a day after his girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter reportedly died with injuries consistent with abuse.

Emmanuel Dennis, 33, allegedly abused Margaret Nunn over several days, striking her and kicking her across a hallway floor to her bedroom. According to the Herald-Standard, Dennis refused to let his girlfriend seek medical attention for her unresponsive daughter.

First responders found Nunn unresponsive at her Searights home on Monday. Nunn reportedly was covered in bruises and scratches.

Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele said Nunn likely died “more than 12 hours” before crews responded to her home, according to the Herald-Standard.

Dennis allegedly confessed to abusing Nunn and complained about the “terrible twos.” He also claimed she fell six times over the weekend. State troopers noted that Dennis did not call Nunn by her name as he repeatedly called her “it,” KDKA reported.

Nunn’s mother reportedly admitted to talking to Dennis about abusing her daughter over the past few weeks. She allegedly recounted an instance in which Dennis dragged her daughter to a room and beat her. Dennis also stopped her from getting medical attention in that instance due to the girl’s visible injuries, according to KDKA.

Dennis is charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault. He remains jailed without bond.

WTAE reported that charges are pending against Nunn’s mother, who is 34 weeks pregnant. Two children in the home have been removed from her care.
