A “person of interest” has been taken into custody in the case of a Army sergeant who was found dead earlier this week after being reported missing.
Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri said the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division was investigating the death of Sgt. Sarah Roque but provided no information about the person of interest.
Major Gen. Christopher Beck, the commanding officer of the post, said Roque’s body was found in a dumpster on the base near the living quarters for single soldiers, KRCG reported.
Roque, 23, enlisted in the Army in 2020 from Indiana, as CrimeOnline reported. A mine dog handler, she was reported missing when family members and her chain of command at th post were unable to contact her.
