A jury convicted Leilani Simon, a mother from Savannah, on all charges in the death of her toddler son and for disposing of his body in a dumpster.
Court TV reports that a Savannah jury convicted Simon on 19 charges, including murder, concealing a death, falsely reporting a crime, and numerous counts of lying to investigators.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Quinton Simon vanished from his Chatham County home in October 2022, and more than a month later, authorities found his remains in a nearby landfill.
Prosecutors alleged that Leilani killed her son Quinton on the morning of October 5 by assaulting him with an unknown object and disposing of his body in a dumpster near her home.
After reporting her son missing, she gave multiple interviews to police and the FBI, which her attorneys tried to keep out of the trial.
Simon’s sentencing has not yet been scheduled, but the judge plans to review aggravating and mitigating evidence before deciding.
