Woman Found Dead, ‘Victim of Violence,’ in Guest Room at Lux Hamptons Resort

Police on Long Island are investigating the apparent murder of a woman found dead in a guest room at a luxury Hamptons wellness spa in Water Mill.

The Suffolk County Police Department said a staff member at Shou Gugi Ban House found the body, Newsday reported. The woman, whose identity has not been released, was “a victim of violence,” police said.

Police said further details about the death would be released after the completion of an autopsy.

Officers from the Southhampton Police Department responded to the scene at about 12:30 p.m.

According to its website, Shou Sugi Ban House offers “spa, healing arts, nutrition, fitness and complete wellness experiences in a holistic, educational setting.”  It consistently ranks high in lists of top spas worldwide and offers individual spa services and multi-day retreats.
