A 44-year-old Ohio woman was charged this week with stabbing her 72-year-old mother to death.
Middletown police officers responded to the home late Wednesday night and found Minnie Lewis suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said. She was taken to Atrium Medical Center, where she died.
Investigators identified Mekeshia Lattimore as the suspect and arrested her at the scene.
Court records say Lewis was Lattimore’s mother, the Journal-News reported. The documents say Lewis’s son told detectives he saw “Mekeshia over the top of the victim while the victim was sitting in a recliner, her hand and arm moving in a stabbing motion toward the victim.”
The son said he got Lattimore off his mother and saw “blood coming from the victim’s neck.” She had stab wounds on the head, face and neck, the affidavit said.
Lattimore, who refused to talk with detectives, has been charged with murder.
