Sex on the Beach Turns Into Bloody Hatchet Attack

A Florida couple has been arrested after they allegedly attacked another man on the beach with a hatchet.

The shirtless, bleeding victim flagged down a deputy on Ocean Shore Blvd. in Ormond-by-the-Sea at around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, telling the deputy that he’d agreed to have sex with the woman on the beach but that things got decidedly weird when they got there, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.

The victim said that 18-year-old Alana Cagle picked him up and they drove to Bicentennial Park, where she parked and they walked to the beach. He said that he’d agreed to let Cagle tie him up for the encounter, but when she tied his legs with a yellow rope he began to feel “uncomfortable” and told her he didn’t want to go through with it.

At that point, a man later identified as 24-year-old Wayne Streeter appeared. and the victim said he began untying his legs. Cagle jumped on his legs, however, but he fought her off and ran, with Streeter in pursuit. Streeter tackled him to the ground and choked him, he said, while Cagle arrived and began punching him. Then, he said, he saw Cagle “with what appeared to be a hatchet as she was striking him all over.”

The victim again got away and ran for the street, where he saw a deputy’s patrol car. The deputy wrote in the report that the victim was shirtless and bleeding heavily with cuts to his abdomen, kneecaps, and shins, along with a deep cut on the upper left part of his back. He was taken to Advent Health Daytona for treatment of his injuries.

Meanwhile, deputies located Cagle and Streeter in her vehicle a short distance away and took them into custody. Cagle refused to speak with investigators without a lawyer, but Streeter told them that he and Cagle had driven to the beach by themselves, WKMG reported. He said he didn’t know how the victim got to the beach, but he went after him when he saw the victim push Cagle down. He said there were no weapons involved but that he did try to choke the victim “for her.”

Investigators found the yellow rope, a t-shirt, a hat,and a sheath for a hatchet on beach. There had been a clear disturbance in the sand, the report says, along with blood on a walkway “consistent with a male running while bleedings.” More blood was found in the area where Cagle’s car had been parked.

Deputies also found a backpack in Cagle’s vehicle, which the victim later identified as his.

The report did not say deputies found the hatchet.

Cagle and Streeter were charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and released on $5,000 bonds each.
