Target Employee Found Crushed on Man Lift at Store’s Closing

Pennsylvania officials announced on Monday that last week’s death of an employee at a Target store was accidental.

In a statement issued to the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, Lycoming County Coroner Charles Kiessling Jr. said a co-worker at a Muncy Target discovered Brianna Burley-Inners, 26, pinned between a man lift and an interior door frame. Burley-Inners was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Williamsport Sun-Gazette reported that Burley-Inners was found dead on Saturday, after employees were leaving for the night and radioed her to see if she was also leaving. After getting no response, the closing team lead checked on Burley-Inners, who was last seen operating a man lift.

Kiessling Jr. said Burley-Inners was found “hunched over a man lift with her body caught between the man lift and a door frame-wall.” She was reportedly cleaning the security cameras on the ceiling near the pharmacy when the fatal accident occurred.

While it is unclear how the accident occurred, state police said there was no evidence of suspicious activity.
