Family members of Richard Allen, the Delphi double murder suspect, testified in his trial Monday, claiming that he never sexually abused them.
FOX 59 reports that Allen’s daughter, Brittney Zapanta, and half-sister, Jaimie Jones, both denied that Allen ever molested them and stated they would not lie for him.
Zapanta also confirmed that her father took her across the Monon High Bridge once or twice but never on the trails where Abby Williams and Libby German were murdered in 2017.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Allen stands charged with multiple counts of murder after Abby Williams and Libby German vanished on February 13, 2017, while walking along the Monon High Bridge in Delphi. Investigators found their bodies the next day.
Five years later, in October 2022, police arrested .
On Wednesday morning, Allen’s mental health took center stage again as a psychologist testified about his long history of mental health issues and stated she didn’t believe he was faking psychosis symptoms.
Jurors also watched additional videos of him in custody at Westville Correctional Facility.
