Two children were killed Friday afternoon when the driver of a stolen Lexus sped through a red light and slammed into a Mitsubishi Outlander carrying four children as passengers.
The impact sent the Mitsubishi nto a Honda Civic and a Cadillac SRX that were stopped at a light, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported.
The driver hopped out of the Lexus and fled on foot, leaving behind two more injured passengers in the stolen vehicle.
The four children were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where two died and the other two were treated for minor injuries. The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 30-year-old woman, was treated and released from University Medical Center.
The driver of the Cadillac also suffered minor injuries. The Honda driver was not hurt. At least one of the suspect’s passengers suffered critical injuries.
Police have not made an arrest or said if they have identified the suspect. They also did not provide the ages of the children.
It was the second fatal crash involving a stolen vehicle running a red light in Las Vegas in as many days. A 50-year-old woman was killed Thursday morning when a stolen Hyundai sped through a red light and slammed into her Toyota.
