Small Town Missouri Police Chief Busted on Domestic Violence Charge

A Missouri police chief was arrested this week on domestic violence charges.

According to KSPR, Greene County deputies were called to a home in the city of Clever at about 10 p.m. Thursday for a disturbance. They arrested Michael Evans, 49, charging him with domestic assault.

Clever is a tiny town of about 2,100 residents in southwestern Missouri, just outside Springfield.

Evans was sworn in as chief of police in July.

He was booked into the Greene County Jail on Friday and is being held on a $10,000 bond, jail records show.
