Asheville Cops Look for Suspect in 26-Year-Old Woman’s Murder

A 26-year-old North Carolina woman was found shot to death in her apartment on Friday, and Asheville police have named a suspect.

Police were called to the apartment at about 11 a.m. on Friday and found Makala Lashea Harrison dead inside, the department said.

Detectives say she was murdered by 34-year-old Darren Lamon Clayton and are working to locate him. Clayton is described as 6 feet tall and 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He jas a scar on his left forearm and a pierced left ear.

“Clayton should be considered armed and dangerous,” police said. “If seen, do not approach, call 911 immediately.”
