A jury quickly found an Ohio man guilty of beating his girlfriend to death with a hammer and dumping her body in a trashcan at a Mother Goose themed city park in Canton.
Sean Goe’s trial began on Tuesday, and the jury returned guilty verdicts on all charges on Friday, according to WOIO.
Goe was convicted of murder, burglary, felonious assault, tampering with evidenc, grand theft, and gross abuse of a corpse.
CrimeOnline previously reported that sanitation workers found the body of 24-year-old Raychel Sheridan on July 3, a day after she was reported missing and just hours after Goe, 27, was arrested at a homeless encampment.
Sheridan’s mother called police to check her apartment on July 2, and the responding officers saw Goe drive away in Sheridan’s car. Sheridan, of course, wasn’t at the apartment, but police found evidence of foul play.
Police stopped Goe, and he fled on foot into a dense, wooded area, WOIO said.
Sheridan’s body was wrapped in plastic inside the garbage can at Mother Goose Land Park in Canton. The Canton Repository said that Sheridan suffered at least 10 blows to the head and that she was beaten so badly she could not be identified by photographs. The hammer was found inside the apartment, which she shared with Goe.
Goe will be sentenced on November 18.
