A 5-year-old Oregon boy who vanished last week was found dead on Tuesday, according to reports.
KPIC reported that Coos County police dispelled rumors that Joshua McCoy’s disappearance was a familial abduction. During their investigation, however, they learned McCoy had a cell phone with him — which was tracked but did not result in any leads.
McCoy vanished from his home in Hauser on Saturday while napping with his mother. McCoy’s mother reportedly woke up to find him missing.
Details surrounding McCoy’s death were not disclosed, but Coos County police said he was found 1.6 miles from his home.
McCoy was reportedly autistic and nonverbal.
