An Illinois teenager has been charged with abusing his 7-month-old son, leaving the child hospitalized with a skull fracture, two broken arms, and numerous bruises.
Tyler J. Holmes, 18, was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm to a child, four counts of aggravated battery to a child, three counts of aggravated domestic battery causing great bodily harm, and three counts of domestic battery.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department said it was sent to a home on Wednesday in Machesney Park after staff after a local hospital contacted the state Department of Child and Family Services when the child was brought in for treatment.
Deputies met with the state worker and interviewed Holmes before making the arrest.
According to court records, Holmes is being held without bond pending arraignment.
The child is said to be in stable condition.
