An investigation is underway in California after a baby boy was found dead on a sidewalk on Thursday.
Los Angeles Fire said they responded to the scene where the newborn was possibly dropped from the window of a fourth-floor bathroom. Responding police officers questioned a woman who was transported to the hospital for pelvic bleeding, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The newborn was pronounced dead at the scene. KABC reported that the woman, who has not been publicly identified, is being detained amid the ongoing investigation.
