Grand Jury Indicts Texas Woman for Murder of Man She Claimed Drugged and Kidnapped Her

A Texas grand jury has indicted a woman on a murder charge after she shot and killed a man she said had drugged and kidnapped her.

Amy Lejeune, 45, was indicted last month in Gillespie County, KXAN reported.

The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office said that it was called on March 15 just after 12:30 p.m. “where a woman said she was kidnapped and drugged, and that she had shot someone.”

The woman described a vehicle involved and the weapon used, and deputies eventually found her near a winery on US Highway 290. The vehicle she described was sitting in traffic with a man inside who was confirmed dead by medics.

The man was later identified as Lance Reid, 49.

According to the Austin American-Stateman, Lejeune told investigators she and Reid had recently met in the Houston area, and they were on a weekend trip when the incident happened.

Lejeune is due on court again on January 9, KXAN said.
