3 Dead in Triple Shooting Inside North Carolina Home

A mother, her 19-year-old son, and his girlfriend were found shot to death in the mother’s home Monday in Cary, North Carolina.

Erica Alyse Holton, 54; Xavier Neil Holton, and 19-year-old Aminah Michelle Guy were pronounced dead on the scene, the Raleigh News & Observer reported.

A 911 call released on Tuesday indicated that Erica Holton’s husband called police when he got home from work, thinking that a burglary may have taken place.

“I just walked in the house, and I think my wife is on the ground,” he said. “I’m at the neighbor’s house right now. I don’t know what’s going on.”

Police called the incident a “death investigation” and have released no further information.

“We have identified all persons known to be involved, and there is no threat to the community,” Cary Police said in a statement.

The News & Observer said that Erica Holton was a contract administrator at Alliance Behavioral Healthcare and was a poet who organized open mic nights at City Soul Cafe in Raleigh. Her son graduated Garner High School in 2023, where he played on the the varsity football team.

Both he and Guy attended North Carolina Central University, according to WTVD.
