Pizza Shop ‘Guests’ Brutally Stab Employee Over ‘Botched Order’

A Virginia couple was arrested this week after the wife allegedly had her husband brutally stab a pizza restaurant employee over a “botched order.”

Catherine N. Harper, 45, and Corey T. Harper, 47, are both charged with malicious wounding, and Corey Harper has an additional charge of brandishing a firearm, WAVY reported.

Police were called to MOD Pizza in Norfolk Sunday afternoon and found the 24-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, but court documents indicated they were quite severe: “The Victim was stabbed several times, in the back, in the front, and one long cut across the torso exposing the Victim’s intestines,” according to Law&Crime.

The couple left the scene, WAVY reported.

The court documents say that Catherine Harper got into an argument with the employee off the “botched order” and then called her husband on the phone, telling him to “handle the situation.” He arrived on the scene and stabbed the victim.

MOD Pizza issued a statement saying it was “dismayed” by the situation and stressing that it “has zero tolerance for behavior that escalates conflicts, whether initiated by a guest or a team member.”

“While our team member recuperates in the hospital, we are conducting our due diligence and will make a well-thought-out decision about this situation,” the company said, careful not to place blame on the violent action of their “guests.”

The Harpers appeared in court on Monday and were ordered held without bond. Their next court date is January 14.
