A 14-year-old Georgia girl has been charged with shooting her mother to death at their home in Tifton.
Tifton Police said they arrived at the home of 41-year-old Rachel Wagner at about 8 a.m. on Tuesday to tell her that her daughter had been in an accident in Bibb County, WALB reported.
They were unable to reach anyone inside and contacted Wagner’s employer, who was also unable to find her. They contacted the landlord, who let them inside the house, and that’s when they found Wagner dead in the back bedroom, WSB said.
Investigators determined that Lilyand Rose Wagner shot her mother then took the mother’s car and was involved in the accident about 100 miles north, according to WALB.
Lilyand Wagner is being held at the regional youth detention center, charged with one count of malice murder. Police are still working to uncover a motive.
