Missing Indiana Mom, 9 Months Pregnant, Vanishes After Visiting Boyfriend’s Remote Home

Family and friends of 25-year-old Emma Baum, a pregnant Indiana mother of four, are rallying for help to find her and bring her home.

WGN9 reports that Baum vanished on October 10 from her boyfriend’s hoe, in the 2500 block of Connecticut Street in Gary, days before her due date. The boyfriend’s home is in an area known to be desolate. He reportedly doesn’t have a working phone.

Emma’s boyfriend, the father of her unborn child, was arrested on a warrant, Gary Police Commander Jack Hamady told NBC Chicago. He’s currently in custody for an unrelated issue and has not been charged in connection with Emma’s disappearance.

“My sister is beautiful. She’s energetic. She reaches for the sky just like a sunflower, which is her favorite,” Baum’s sister Abby Smith said.

Baum stands 5 feet, 3 inches tall with brown hair and eyes. She has several tattoos and scars on her arms and is known to wear different colored wigs.

Her family says she has three other children and may have already given birth.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Gary police Detective Sgt. M. Salazar at 219-881-1209.
