Abducted Missouri Man Found Dead in Car on Interstate Exit Ramp

A 19-year-old Missouri man abducted from his home in Independence on Saturday was found shot to death in a car in Kansas City a day later.

Preston Bell was seen being forced into a car at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, and his family was unable to reach him afterward, according to Independence Police, who issued a missing person alert.

On Sunday afternoon, Kansas City police officers responded to a call about someone passed out in their car on an Interstate 435 exit ramp about a mile from Bell’s home. They found a man dead from a gunshot wound inside the car.

Independence Police also responded to the scene and identified the car as the one associated with the missing person alert and the dead man as Bell.

Police have not released any suspect information and asked anyone with information to contact the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
