Colorado Opera Singer and Professor Found Dead in Apartment, Suspect on the Run

Colorado Springs police announced Monday that they have identified a suspect in the stabbing death of Haleh Abghari, a 54-year-old professor at the University of Colorado.

Police discovered Abghari’s body on the morning of August 7 at a residence in the 6400 block of Caddy Point, close to North Powers Boulevard and North Carefree Circle.

The Colorado Gazette reports that Abghari sustained at least one stab wound. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office currently trying to determine the official cause of death.

Police issued an arrest warrant for 53-year-old Ceasar Lorenzo Wilson, charging him with second-degree murder. As of Monday morning, they have not located him.

Records show that police arrested Wilson in July on charges of kidnapping and misdemeanor assault, but he posted bail. He missed his court hearing on August 12.

Police said Wilson should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to DailyMail, Abghari gained acclaim as an opera singer, actor, and voice-over artist, performing in plays and creating original compositions throughout her career.
