Police in Oklahoma identified a child involved in a disturbing missing persons case out of Moore.
Moore Police Department stated that London Kerr is now 5 years old and was last seen in April 2022.
Her mother, Ashley Rowland, allegedly handed London over to a man named Carlos, a reported meth dealer who said he was headed to Mexico.
Police took Rowland into custody for child desertion in October, according to USA Today.
The state Department of Health failed to locate the baby in April 2023 during a pickup order and contacted Rowland, Fox 23 reports.
Rowland initially claimed the baby was with her father in Georgia, but officials determined her story was false.
“Since Rowland’s arrest, Moore Police and Detectives have searched multiple properties, storage units, and electronic devices regarding London’s birth certificates, social security information, clothing, toys, or anything that could lead to identifying London or her whereabouts,” the police department stated.
“The Moore Police Department has done everything in its power to locate London within our jurisdiction and plans to file additional charges related to the disappearance of London Kerr.”
Rowland admitted she was on drugs when she gave the child away and said she hasn’t seen Carlos or the baby since April 2022.
Rowland told police she didn’t know Carlos’ last name and couldn’t describe any features about him. She also said he might be London’s father, but she wasn’t certain.
She then allegedly stated she did not provide Carlos with any identification documents for London.
After her arrest, MPD officers and detectives searched multiple properties, storage units, and electronic devices for records related to London’s birth certificate, social security information, or leads on her identity or whereabouts.
Investigators found no records and only one photo of the child, taken when she was about 1 or 2 years old.
Police expect more charges against Rowland, in connection with London’s disappearance.
