Police have not released the identities of the victims, but investigators and the woman’s mother identified them as Fisher’s sister and niece, as CrimeOnline reported.
Police said they were flagged down by a family member who said the mother and child were being held hostage shortly before 3 a.m. Friday. Officers initially said a man with blood on him met them at the door, but the department said on Saturday said they found Fisher asleep on couch, KHOU reported.
The mother and child were found stabbed to death during a search of the apartment.
Police said that Fisher had injuries consistent with a struggle and blood on his clothing.
KPRC reported that Fisher is being held on a $200,000 bail and is due in court on Tuesday.
