Former Florida Mayoral Candidate Arrested for Murdering Member of Same Religious Tribe

A man who was once a Gainesville, Florida, mayoral candidate and was recently thought to be missing, based on reports, has been arrested and charged with murder.

Adam Arthur Rosenthal, 39, was arrested by the Giles County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday in connection with the death of Darren Gabrel. Rosenthal has been charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence, according to the Independent.

Gabrel’s body was found Tuesday afternoon on a property in Pulaski, Tennessee, about 75 miles outside of Nashville.

The Pulaski Citizen reported that two search warrants were executed following the discovery of Gabrel’s body. One warrant was for a property on Ichabod Lane, and the other was for a home on Glendale Drive in Pulaski. Both locations are owned and used by the local religious group, The Twelve Tribes.

Giles County Sheriff Joe Purvis stated that the victim had been a long-time member of The Twelve Tribes, while Rosenthal had recently become affiliated with the group approximately six to nine months ago.

A motive for the murder has not been released, according to the Independent.

Rosenthal is being held at the Giles County Jail, and his court date is scheduled for December 10.
