Two people have been arrested after an 18-year-old South Carolina woman was found shot to death on Friday in a vehicle in Greenwood County.
MyAngel Walker was reported missing o the Laurens Police Department on Thursday after she failed to show up at work that day. She was last seen in Clinton, about 8 miles away, according to WHNS. Police said they quickly concluded that Walker’s disappearance was suspicious.
“It became apparent during the night that we were looking for something a little more than just somebody missing,” said Laurens Police Chief Heath Copeland, without providing details.
Walker’s body was later found in a car abandoned in neighboring Greenwood County.
The Clinton Police Department arrested 19-year-old Malachi Pressley and 19-year-old Taylor Kinard in connection with the murder. Pressley was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, while Kinard was charged with accessory after the fact for helping dispose of Walker’s body.
“She had knowledge of it and she helped,” Clinton Police Chief Michael Addison said.
A police report says that investigators believe Pressley shot Walker to death on Wednesday night between 10 and 11 p.m.
The two suspects appeared in court Saturday morning and were denied bond.
Walker’s mother, Sade Woodruff, told WHNS that Pressley was Walker’s on-and-off boyfriend. Her daughter graduated high school earlier this year, she said, and wanted to be a nurse.
