On Friday, an Amber Alert was issued for a 7-year-old girl missing since September, leading police in Texas to locate her.
Hazel Hodge-Lassiter was last seen with her parents, Brandon Lassiter, 44, and Ashley Doss-Lassiter, 41, on September 25, according to Fox26. Hazel was seen around midnight in the 900 block of County Line Road in Shepherd, Texas.
An investigation involving Child Protective Services (CPS) was set to be addressed in court, according to the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Office. CPS obtained a court order to assume custody of the child; however, when officials attempted to execute the warrant on Friday, the parents and child were untraceable, Fox 26 reports.
On Saturday, Hazel was found, and according to KRTH, Ashley Doss-Lassiter is the accused abductor.
Little information has been released about the circumstances surrounding Hazel’s discovery.
This is an ongoing investigation.
