Maryland Man’s New Girlfriend Charged With Killing His Ex

A 35 year-old Virginia woman was arrested last week and charged with the murder of her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend.

Prince George’s County police officers were called to the scene in Capitol Heights, Maryland, late Thursday night and found 54 year old Connie Burns dead from trauma.

Erica Terry remained on the scene and arrested on second degree murder and other charges.

The investigation revealed that the two had gotten into a physical altercation.

According to WRC, Burns had come to the home where the boyfriend lived looking for her 9-year-old son, charging documents say. The boyfriend, who is the father of the 9-year-old boy, told police he and Burns got into an argument over his relationship with Terry and that Terry joined in with the argument, physically fighting Burns.

Terry reportedly hit Burns in the head, knocking her to the ground, and then repeatedly punched and kicked her. At some point, the boyfriend said he got between the woman and had Terry go upstairs to call 911. She apparently didn’t do that, and he used his cell phone to call for help. But it was too late.
