A Texas grand jury this week indicted a man for sexual assault of a child, charging him with giving a 15-year-old drugs and forcing her to have sex with him every day for about three months.
When she refused, he would lock her in a shed on his property, KDFM reported.
A judge gave Charles Richard McDaniel, 54, a $125,000 bond. He faces two to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine if convicted.
Groves Marshal Christopher Robin said police launched an investigation on November 30, and search and arrest warrants were executed on December 10.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Groves P0lice got a tip that the teen had been staying at McDaniel’s home for about three months. She told investigators that he locked her in the shed in the back yard, where he gave her drugs and raped her, often multiple times per day.
She said she was afraid to leave because he sometimes cut off her breath to the point she passed out. She told detectives McDaniel made her feel “trapped” and “like I had no way out of this situation.”
