NAS Pensacola Marine Charged With Murder After Woman’s Body Found in Mobile Pond

A 20-year-old US Marine has been charged with first degree murder and possession of child pornography after a missing Florida woman was found dead in Alabama on Wednesday.

Tshey Ronaie Bennett, 26, was reported missing on Saturday, according to the Escambia County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office. She had been last seen the day before, and police said the circumstances surrounding her disappearance were suspicious and investigated the case as a potential homicide.

Those fears turned out to be true on Wednesday when Bennett’s body was found in a pond in an abandoned neighborhood in Mobile, Alabama.

Willie Richard Ellington, who was stationed at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida, was arrested in Opelika, Alabama, about 230 miles from both Mobile and Pensacola.

The sheriff’s office said investigators had learned that Bennett was working as an escort and had met Ellington at the Sweet Dream Inn in Pensacola.

No further information was released.
