Alissa McCommon, a former Tipton County, Tennessee teacher, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 25 years for child sex crimes.

According to Fox 13, McCommon’s 25-year sentence includes no chance of parole. For the rest of her life, she will be registered as a violent sex offender and will be under community supervision.

McCommon is prohibited from having any contact with her victims, including the child born from her relationship with one of them.

McCommon’s guilty plea was for the following charges:

– One count of rape of a child
– Two counts of statutory rape by an authority figure
– Three counts of aggravated statutory rape
– Three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means
– Two counts of solicitation of a minor for aggravated statutory rape
– One count under the Child Protection Act

As previously reported by CrimeOnline, McCommon was arrested on September 8, 2023, and charged with sexual misconduct involving a 12-year-old boy.

The Covington Police Department stated that 38-year-old McCommon befriended several juveniles through video games and social media apps, leading to her allegedly sending inappropriate photographs and soliciting sexual relations with the victims.

Police launched an investigation on August 24 when they were contacted by the Tennessee Department of Children Services. As the investigation began, McCommon was suspended without pay by Tipton County Schools.

Police said McCommon admitted to communicating inappropriately with former students.

The children were reportedly between the ages of 12 and 17, and investigators believe there may have been as many as 21 victims, according to Fox 13.

During the court proceedings, WREG reported that five victims testified against McCommon, who had also befriended the victims’ parents.

One victim’s mother stated in court, “I loved you like family, opened my doors to you. You used our friendship to hurt me and the people I love in this world, took innocence from my son before puberty, took what was supposed to be a great experience and tainted it. Your mind is sick and twisted for looking at a child and being turned on.”

District Attorney Mark Davidson stated, “The District Attorney General’s Office commends the incredibly courageous victims who came forward to testify along with their parents,” according to Fox 13.
