‘I killed my dad’: TN Son Accused of Decapitating His Father

An East Ridge, Tennessee after police found covered in blood—his father’s blood.

WDEF reports that on Thursday evening, police arrived at the 1400 block of Greenslake Road to find Caleb Disterdick, 26, covered in blood.

A neighbor called the police after Disterdick approached him while he was mowing, according to News Channel 9.

After police detained Disterdick, they followed a trail of blood into the home through the back door. Upon entry, they discovered a deceased man who had been decapitated. The man was confirmed to be Caleb Disterdick’s father, Jason “Chirs” Disterdick.

Jason Disterdick was said to have been decapitated with a large knife still embedded in his neck, according to the affidavit.

Caleb Disterdick sustained a leg injury, and EMS was called to assist. During this time, Disterdick made random comments, stating, “I had to protect the kids,” according to the affidavit obtained by News Channel 9.

Disterdick was taken to Erlanger for further medical treatment and then placed into police custody. The affidavit states that Disterdick repeatedly said, “I killed my dad” during the police interview, according to WDEF.

Caleb Disterdick has been charged with criminal homicide, according to News Channel 9.
