A Louisiana man has been arrested after he picked up a Tennessee teenager, brought her to his home for sex, then dumped her in the woods with a tent while he went to celebrate Christmas with his family.
Alexander Materne, 28, met the 14-year-old girl on an online gaming platform and made arrangements to pick the girl up in Tennessee and bring her back to his home in St. Rose, Louisiana, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
After the two had sex, the girl allegedly told Materne her age, so he dumped her in Tangipahoa Parish with a tent, food, and water and went to his family home in Jennings for Christmas.
The teen’s family reportedly did the work to connect their child with Materne and contacted authorities in Louisiana.
“They were the key to all of this,” Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Gerald Sticker told CBS News. “I’m telling you, if they want a job, I’ll hire both of these parents as investigators.”
Authorities eventually found Materne at his family’s home, and he agreed to show deputies where he dropped the girll off, about 40 miles from his St. Rose home. They found her and took her to a hospital for an evaluation and then returned to her family.
Tangipahoa Parish officials charged Materne with contributing the delinquency of a minor and aggravated kidnapping of a child. In St. Charles Parish, he was charged with human trafficking and carnal knowledge.
