A 12-year-old Las Vegas girl was arrested Friday night for the stabbing death of her father.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, North Las Vegas police were called to the scene at about 9:30 p.m. by a family member. KSNV said the 911 caller turned out to be the juvenile suspect.

Police arrived at the home and found the girl and her 55-year-old father, who was dead.

Investigators identified the girl as the sole suspect in the case, and she was charged with murder using a deadly weapon.

Police said they had been called to the home earlier in December on a report of a runaway juvenile and domestic disturbance. They said they found no evidence of “significant physical harm” to the girl prior to her father’s murder.

Detectives are working to piece together what led to the stabbing.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity and cause and manner of death later.
