Court documents filed on Tuesday detail the alleged abuse a missing 1-year-old Alabama boy suffered before his disappearance and presumed death.
According to WBMA, Wendy Bailey, 22, is accused of disregarding and failing to report the abuse Kahleb Collins suffered at his father’s hands in July. The documents also detail how, on at least two occasions, Bailey witnessed Collins “being bound with rope, physically assaulted, and being bound by a rope from a loft with blood and bruising present.”
Collins’ father allegedly sent Bailey photos showing Collins hanging by a rope and bloody. The father reportedly wrote that he wanted to kill the toddler and he was not moving. He later texted Bailey that their son was moving.
“He just looks wore out and tired and hurt hopefully that’s all,” Bailey responded, per WBMA.

Collins was last seen on September 4 — months before the December 8 car accident that killed his father and 2-year-old sister and left Bailey seriously injured.
According to WBMA, authorities said Collins’ body was put in a bag and stashed in a storage building. His body was eventually discarded at an unknown location, authorities said.
Collins was formally reported missing on December 9, after it was revealed he was not in the deadly crash involving his father, mother, and sister. The father was allegedly driving at 92 mph when he veered off the road and struck a tree — causing him to be ejected from the vehicle. Bailey was also unbuckled and was partially ejected from the car.
On Sunday, Bailey was charged with abuse of a corpse, first-degree domestic violence, aggravated child abuse, and criminally negligent homicide. Bailey is charged with homicide in connection with her daughter, who was reportedly unrestrained in the vehicle when she was killed. The abuse of a corpse charge pertains to Collins, whose body has not been found.
Days after the deadly wreck, Collins’ grandfather, John Bailey, 50, was arrested for failing to report Kahleb Collins’ disappearance. He remains jailed on $100,000 bond.
Wendy Bailey is awaiting a bond hearing.
