‘Severely Malnourished’ 4-Year-Old Girl Hadn’t Eaten Solid Food in 6 Months

A North Carolina woman was arrested over the weekend for child neglect after daughter was found to be “severely malnourished.”

Sarah Weber, 28, reportedly told police that the little girl hadn’t eaten solid food for about six months and had diarrhea for at least a month. An arrest warrant says that Weber did not seek medical help for the girl in that time.

Weber was arrested at her rental home early Saturday morning. The owner of the home told WSOC that the girl in question was 4-years-old.

Police did not why police were sent to Weber’s home on Saturday, when they found the “severely malnourished” girl, Law&Crime reported.

Weber’s inaction “led to the minor child to be severely malnourished [which] was confirmed by a doctor,” the warrant said. “Due to the severity of the malnutrition, the minor child was admitted to the hospital for further evaluation.”

Weber was ordered held on a $25,000 bond and is due in court on Monday.
