2 Bodies Found in JetBlue Plane’s Wheel Well Were Badly Decomposed, Official Says

Two bodies discovered in an airplane’s landing gear at a Florida airport on Monday were reportedly decomposed, suggesting they were on the aircraft for multiple flights.

Broward County Aviation Department spokesperson Arlene Satchell told CNN that passengers had already unboarded the JetBlue flight when the bodies were found in the landing gear. Satchell also said the investigation has not affected operations at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

According to CNN, someone called 911 about a gate technician discovering two deceased males in the landing gear. Their identities remain undisclosed.

JetBlue said the plane had recently flown to Florida from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. An official said the plane originated in Kingston, Jamaica.

It is still unclear how the two people got into the wheel well.
