A Florida man failed his attempt at a murder suicide in Edgewater shortly after midnight Saturday morning, only managing to kill himself while leaving his wife hospitalized.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said the husband and wife were arguing and that he shot his wife and then killed himself.

Deputies arrived on the scene at about 12:17 a.m. and found the husband dead. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for traetment.

On Sunday afternoon, they said she was listed in stable condition

The sheriff’s office said they had no prior history of deomestic violence incidents. Their names were not released.
