Louisiana Family Massacre Leaves Baby, Mother & 10-Year-Old Boy Dead

Two children and one woman were the victims of a fatal stabbing at a Louisiana home Thursday.

Just after 4:30 p.m., the three victims were found “stabbed to death” at a home in Amite, after police responded to “a domestic disturbance call,” according to People Magazine.

WAFB reports that Deondra Robertson-Warner’s cousin, Rhonda Powell, 40, was one of the victims. The other two victims were identified by Warner as Hayden, 1, and Braylon, 10.

On Warner’s GoFundMe page, she stated that Braylon was Powell’s son and Hayden was her nephew.

Police arrested the suspect, Ryant Jones, 31, who is said to have a known history of schizophrenia, according to WAFB.

According to Warner, Jones was also a family member with “a documented history of schizophrenia.” Warner claims that at the time of the attack, Jones was “experiencing a mental health episode.”

Warner claimed that Jones had been taken to a hospital for mental health issues on the Wednesday prior; however, the hospital would not keep him.

Jones was given medication and released to the family.

“She pleaded with or implored the doctor to give him the shot that usually works. Instead, the doctor gave him a pill. Both my aunt and his brother requested that he be committed and kept because he was showing signs of aggression toward his brother. They didn’t think it was a good idea to send him home,” Warner said, according to WAFB.

Jones has been  charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
