Police in North Carolina have made an arrest in the murder of a woman found dead Saturday afternoon at her home in Fayetteville.
The Fayetteville Police Department said Christopher Wayne Walker, 40, has been charged with first degree murder after he was arrested late Sunday morning near Goldsboro, WGHP reported.
Sherri Miller, 57, was found dead at about 1:20 p.m. on Saturday after officers responded to a “suspicious activity” call, as CrimeOnline reported. At the time, investigators learned that Miller’s 2014 Camaro was missing and asked for help finding it and the person driving it.
Police did not say if Walker was found with the car, or how Walker was found at all, other than receiving assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
They have also not released a cause or manner of death for Miller.
Walker is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
