A Texas man was arrested this week after Lubbock police charged him with severely injuring a 6-month-old baby.
The infant was with Benjamin Farrell, 35, for several hours on Monday, EverythingLubbock.com reported, although the outlet did not say why he was in charge of the child during that time.
When a family member came to pick up the infant, she realized something was seriously wrong and took the child to a hospital. There, staff found two freshly broken bones in the baby’s arm and possible fractured ribs. An officer documented “multiple injuries” to the child’s torso, back, neck, head, and backside.
Court records say Farrell was uncooperative with investigators. He was arrested on charges of aggravated assault on a household member with a weapon causing serious bodily injury and causing injury to a child.
He is being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
The outlet did not provide an update on the child’s condition.
