A Texas man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home Monday night and shot her and friend to death.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Yamil Rivera-Perez, 34, took his 26-year-old former girlfriend, a mom of two, to the hospital, where she died, but left a 30-year-old man at the home, KHOU reported. He was pronounced dead there.
Investigators identified the victims as Charity Freeman and Alejandro Suarez, KPRC said.
According to the sheriff’s office, Rivera-Perez and Freeman had been in an abusive relationship and had recently broken up. Freeman’s family said she leaves behind two young children.
The killer has been charged with capital murder and was ordered held without bond.
