Developing: Police Say Florida Brother Killed and Dismembered His Own Sister

A Florida woman missing for a year has been declared dead, and police say her brother is the main suspect.

ABC 5 reports that Catherine Stirm, 67, was reported missing on January 31, 2024, but her body has not yet been located.

Bradenton police believe her brother, Scott Stirm, killed and dismembered her before taking his own life on February 1, 2024, in Brooksville.

Catherine’s coworkers reported her missing after she ceased communications on January 22. Police later discovered her vehicle at the apartment complex where Scott Stirm lived, two days before his suicide.
