Father of Georgia School Shooter Granted Bond

A Georgia judge has granted bond to the father of the teenager accused of killing four people at his high school last fall.

Judge Nicholas Primm granted a $500,000 bond to Colin Gray, who faces several charges related to his lax handling of weapons around his 14-year-old son, Colt Gray, WANF reported. Primm also ordered the father to have no contact with witnesses in the case.

Several family members of victims in the September 4 shooting testified at Tuesday’s bond hearing, all asking that Primm deny Colin Gray’s petition to be let out in the community. His attorneys argued that he posed no “significant danger” to the community if he’s released.

Both Colin Gray and his son have pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Colin Gray gave his son the rifle he used for Christmas in 2023, several months after authorities had questioned them both about threats the teen had allegedly made. Colt Gray denied making any threats, and his father said his son did not have access to any guns.

Teachers Richard Aspinwall and Cristina Irimie and 14-year-old students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo were killed in the shooting.
