A 20-year-old Florida man has been charged with killing his teenage girlfriend and tossing her body in the backyard.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home on Monday night by Dominique Domond’s mother, who told police the story her son told her, WTVJ reported.
Domond said an unknown man and his girlfriend, 17-year-old Jansie Barthold, attacked him and he fought them off, shoving Barthold outside. Somehow, Barthold ended up dead.
Domond repeated the story to detectives, who wrote in their report that his story contained inconsistent and even conflicting statements, although he admitted having a physical encounter with the victim.
Ultimately, Domond admitted there was no unknown man in the home. He said there was no one else there and that he choked the victim to death and then threw her body into the backyard.
Domond was charged with second-degree murder and ordered held without bond, WSVN reported.
