Connecticut police said a man killed his girlfriend and his 2-year-old son on Saturday, shortly before their bodies were discovered.
Hailey Miller, 19, and the toddler were found dead in a New Haven apartment after someone heard screaming and called 911. The callers also claimed they witnessed a man jump through a second-floor glass window, according to the New Haven Register.
Miller and the toddler, who has not been publicly identified, died at the scene. Officers located the injured suspect, Jevon Fletcher, 26, outside the apartment and took him into custody, according to the New Haven Register.
WNTH reported that Fletcher is the slain toddler’s father. The toddler was not Miller’s son, though Miller had a young child who was not present when she was killed.
Reports indicated that Fletcher received a six-month suspended sentence last February for breaching the peace involving a different victim.
Fletcher was released from the hospital on Tuesday. He is charged with murder, murder with special circumstances, and risk of injury. His bond is set at $3 million.
