The Beaver Dam Police Department in Wisconsin released new surveillance footage Monday night from the day 16-year-old Sophia Franklin vanished.
The video shows the moment police believe Gary Day, 40, picked her up, according to WMTV.
Police released new photos of Franklin and Day. Franklin stands 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs 186 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes, according to the alert.
An AMBER Alert is currently active for Franklin in Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Missouri. Arkansas issued the alert on February 6, where Day is from, while Wisconsin activated its Amber Alert for Sophia Franklin on February 3. Franklin is three months pregnant.
Police suspect that Sophia is with 40-year-old Day, who was last seen on surveillance footage at her home the morning of February 3. He is believed to be the father of her unborn child.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Day faces four charges in Dodge County, including two counts of child enticement and two counts of child abduction, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Day lives in Cabot, Arkansas, about 25 miles northeast of Little Rock, according to court records.
The criminal complaint against him states that Sophia’s father reported her missing. Surveillance footage captured Day walking near their home at 7:50 a.m. on February 3, with his 2014 Buick LaCrosse parked a block away. His vehicle was later spotted on FLOCK cameras traveling southbound on Highway 151 near Sun Prairie around 8:30 a.m., around 45 minutes after he was seen on the home surveillance.
Beaver Dam police updated the Amber Alert, indicating that Day may be switching the license plates on his vehicle. Initially, it displayed Arkansas license plate BBR 20L but was also seen with Pennsylvania license plate KGW518 in Wisconsin. The alert later suggested that the plate may have changed to Arizona.
The AMBER Alert also notes that Sophia and Day have a no-contact order in place.
Beaver Dam authorities stated that Sophia’s parents are not under investigation in the case.
Anyone with information about their whereabouts should contact the Beaver Dam Police Department at 920-887-4612 or the Amber Alert tip line at 888-304-3936.
