A South Carolina woman was charged with murder this week after she allegedly stabbed her newborn son with a letter opener.
Easly Police Chief Brandon Liner said that An T Ngo had the baby, cut the umbilical cord, stabbed the child repeatedly with the letter opener, then put the body in a trash bag in another room, WYFF reported.
“Ms. Ngo did have the baby in the apartment,” Liner said during a news conference. “It is very apparent that Ms. Ngo is the one that tragically murdered this child.”
“I will be honest with you. I’ve been doing this two and a half decades, and I’ve never seen anything this gruesome,” the chief said. “I’ve never seen anything this bad.”
Ngo was arraigned on a charge of homicide by child abuse and ordered held without bond.
