A 23-year-old Louisiana man has been charged with raping his girlfriend twice in late 2023.
Louisiana State University Police arrested Wyatt Stephens on Thursday, WBRC reported.
The two incidents both occurred in November 2023 at the victim’s apartment on the LSU campus. The two apparently broke up not long after the second incident.
In the first, arrest records say, Stephens and the victim went to her apartment where he is accused of forcing himself on her, ripping off her shirt, despite her requests that he stop. In the second, the victim said he became too aggressive during consensual sex and refused to stop when she told him to.
It’s not clear when she reported the two incidents, but WBRC said he had been arrested before by campus cops for dating partner abuse. Police also said other domestic complaints had been reported but did not result in arrests.
Police told WVLA that Stephens had been arrested 11 times since December 2021, including multiple arrests for dating partner abuse. The results of those charges were not known. It’s not clear if Stephens is or was an LSU student or if the incidents just occurred on campus.
He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail on a $50,000 bond.
