Florida authorities are looking for “person of interest” after finding a woman dead in a Port St. Lucie hotel room Monday morning.
Lt. Andrew Bolonka said the victim had been identified, but officials were withholding the name pending notification of next of kin.
The woman was found just after 11 a.m. by cleaning staff, Bolonka said. Medics arrived, and she was pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators quickly determined she had been murdered, he said, but did not say how she was killed.
Bolonka also said investigators were searching for a person of interest who checked into the room at the Best Western using a woman’s credit card. He did not say if the woman was seen alive with him at that time, and he could not describe “the relationship between the credit car and the deceased.
He also did not provide a description or any other information about the man he described as a “person of interest.”
